DYNAMIC NETWORK FACTORY ANNOUNCE 2400-SERIES NAS SERVERS PACKING OVER 9TB IN ONE CHASSIS
High Capacity NAS unit Designed for Nearline and Mass Storage Implementations
Hayward, CA, September 1, 2004 -- Dynamic Network Factory, a leading developer of cost-effective, high-performance storage solutions, announced the FlexStor-NAS and StorBank 2400 NAS systems today, offering specialized performance for Windows and Linux sharing environments. The 2400-series holds 24 RAID Certified(SM) Serial ATA hard drives in a compact 5U chassis, with internal storage capacities up to 9.6TB.
Dynamic Network Factory’s (DNF) FlexStor-NAS branded products feature Windows Storage Server 2003 and offer complete integration into Microsoft environments, including Active Directory. The StorBank line brings native Linux NFS support to the table, allowing seamless, high-performance file sharing in Linux and Windows environments. The FlexStor-NAS and StorBank 2400 Xeon Serial ATA RAID NAS products expand the limits of the integrated NAS market, offering up to 9.6TB of internal storage and the ability to handle over 50TB of data with additional SCSI-attached subsystems. The unit supports RAID levels 0, 1, 5, 10, and JBOD, offering the maximum in flexibility and data redundancy. With the built-in CD-ROM and floppy disk drives, adding additional software components is convenient. Web-based management and configuration allows administrators to remotely set up and maintain the NAS product from any computer with network access.
Both the FlexStor-NAS and StorBank product lines feature snapshot technology to shorten backup windows, by creating images of the changes over a specified interval. This offers dramatic space savings over backup solutions that force users to duplicate all of a drive’s data to capture incremental changes.
With the DNF RAID Certification Program, all of the drives used in DNF products have been tested to ensure that they work in tandem to provide consistent performance across the array, while weeding out marginal units unfit for use in RAID environments.
“These new NAS appliances pack 9.6TB of storage in one chassis, eliminating the need for a separate NAS engine to deploy large amounts of storage. These two products are unique in the marketplace, providing a cost-effective, reliable NAS solution at an attractive price point,” said Mo Tahmasebi, President of Dynamic Network Factory.
The FlexStor-NAS 2400 and StorBank 2400 Xeon Serial ATA RAID NAS products are available immediately, directly through Dynamic Network Factory, and reseller channels.
